Account deletion

This page explains how Plaum actually handles account deletion today. Account deletion is started through a self-service flow in the Plaum mobile app, not through a manual email-only support process.

1Start deletion in the app

Plaum currently supports self-service account deletion directly inside the mobile app. A signed-in user can open Settings, tap Delete Account, and confirm the request from there.

The app does not treat deletion as an instant wipe. Starting deletion creates a scheduled deletion request and begins a 30-day grace period.

01

Open Settings

Go to the Settings area inside the Plaum mobile app and choose Delete Account.

02

Confirm the request

Plaum shows a confirmation step before starting deletion. Once confirmed, a 30-day grace period begins.

03

Manage the scheduled deletion

After the request is created, Plaum moves you to a deletion-management screen where you can cancel the request or choose immediate permanent deletion.

2What happens after you request it

After a deletion request is created, Plaum no longer lets the account keep using the app normally. Instead, the account is routed into a dedicated deletion-management state.

2.1 During the grace period

  • The app shows that deletion has been scheduled
  • The scheduled deletion date is shown to the user
  • Normal authenticated app usage is locked down during that pending state

2.2 After the grace period ends

If the user does nothing, the request runs to completion after the 30-day grace period. At that point, the account is permanently deleted and the process cannot be undone.

This is a scheduled self-service flow, not a support queue that waits for manual approval before anything happens.

3Cancel it or delete immediately

While the request is pending, the user has two choices inside the deletion screen: keep the scheduled deletion and wait, or change the outcome before the grace period ends.

3.1 Cancel deletion

The user can cancel the deletion during the 30-day grace period. When that happens, account access is restored and the account returns to normal use.

3.2 Delete immediately instead

The user can also choose an immediate permanent deletion option that skips the rest of the grace period. This is treated as a stronger, irreversible action.

3.3 Finality

Once deletion is executed immediately, or once the 30-day grace period expires, the account cannot be restored.

Plaum’s real product behavior is: start deletion in-app, wait through the grace period, cancel it, or explicitly fast-forward it to immediate deletion.

4If you no longer have the app installed

Plaum also supports a separate web-based deletion request flow for users who no longer have the mobile app installed. That flow starts with the user’s email address and sends a confirmation link before the same deletion state begins.

After that confirmation step, the request enters the same backend deletion process used by the mobile app, including the same 30-day grace period.
