What this is

Adding a menu item. The guidance up top is direct about what makes a good listing:

Make one clear dish first. Add a photo, a simple name, and the right price. Keep the words short.

The form

Field Notes
Photo The thing diners actually browse — dish cards in Discover are photo-first.
Name Keep it simple.
Price
Description Describe the dish...
Category Appetizer · Main · Side · Dessert · Drink · Special
Ingredients (comma-separated) Shown as the collapsible list on Dish detail.
Allergens (comma-separated) Shown to diners; blank renders as None listed.
Dietary Tags Vegan, vegetarian, halal, kosher, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, keto, paleo — these drive dietary filtering.
Availability Available on menu / Hidden from menu

Allergens matter here: diners are told None listed rather than "no allergens", but filling this in properly is what makes that distinction useful.

Availability, not deletion

Marking a dish Hidden from menu takes it out of the diner-facing menu without destroying it — the right move for a sold-out special. Deleting is permanent and lives on Portfolio.

After your first dish

Nice. Your first dish is live. Now show it off so people can find it. [ Open portfolio ]
