Kitchen orders

What this is
Your live order overview.
The order board — the screen a kitchen leaves open during service. Orders appear on their own — nobody refreshes anything — and a chime plays when a new one lands.
The three columns
| Group | Colour | Icon |
|---|---|---|
| New | accent | bell |
| In Progress | brand orange | flame |
| Ready | green | check |
Plus Completed and Cancelled for finished orders.
Orders move left to right as you work them.
The clock
Every order shows how long it's been waiting — 45s, 12m, 1h — and the colour
escalates as it ages. That's the single most important thing on the screen during a
rush: it turns "which order next?" into something you can see rather than work out.
What you can do with an order
- Move it New → In Progress → Ready
- Propose changes — substitutions or removals when something's out of stock. The diner sees the diff and accepts or rejects it (see Order status)
- Kitchen Chat — message the customer directly
- Cancel
The change-proposal flow is what stops "we're out of that" from becoming a cancellation.
